Wondrous Love (El Amor Maravilloso)

I love these words from the old hymn:

"The love of God is greater far
  Than tongue or pen can ever tell.
It goes beyond the highest star
  And reaches to the lowest hell.
The guilty pair, bowed down with care,
  God gave His Son to win;
His erring child He reconciled
  And pardoned from his sin.

O love of God, how rich and pure!
  How measureless and strong!
It shall forevermore endure
    The saints' and angels' song.

Could we with ink the ocean fill,
  And were the skies of parchment made;
Were every stalk on earth a quill,
  And every man a scribe by trade;
To write the love of God above
  Would drain the ocean dry;
Nor could the scroll contain the whole,
  Though stretched from sky to sky."

El Amor Maravilloso

Me encantan estas palabras del antiguo himno:

"El amor de Dios es mucho más grande
   De lo que la lengua o la pluma pueden nunca contar.
Va más allá de la estrella más alta
   Y llega a las profundidades del Seol.
La pareja culpable, se inclinó con cuidado,
   Dios dio a su Hijo para ganarlos;
A su hijo descarriado reconcilió
   Y perdonó de su pecado.
        
  Oh amor de Dios, ¡tan rico y puro!
   ¡Qué inconmensurable y fuerte!
Por siempre perdurará
     La canción de los santos y los ángeles.
        
Si pudiéramos con tinta el océano llenar,
   Y si los cielos de pergamino fueran hechos;
Si cada tallo en la tierra fuera una pluma,
   Y cada hombre un escribano de oficio;
Para escribir el amor de Dios allá arriba
  Drenaría el mar hasta secarlo;
Tampoco podría el pergamino contener el todo,
   Aunque se extendiera desde el cielo hasta el cielo. "
