Miracles (Milagros)

I've never been someone who makes New Year's resolutions. But a few years ago I started choosing a theme for the new year.

One year my theme was "following." I felt like God wanted me to just focus on following Him - wherever He led me, regardless of the possible difficulties or consequences. That was a tough year. But having that mindset of following really helped.

Last year the theme was expectation. I had a sense of eager anticipation of what God had in store for me. However, many things that I expected and hoped would happen, didn't. And other things I had no idea or dream of happening, did. So last year was a little confusing for me, but I trust that God was still working out His divine plan for me.

This year I'm in a "wait and see" mode. I really have no idea what the new year holds and I'm hesitant to formulate any specific expectations. Yet the sense of eager anticipation still lingers in my spirit. Perhaps that's why I'm hoping and praying that this will be a year of many miracles!

It's not that I haven't experienced miracles before. I've seen God do miraculous things, especially during the last few years. Yet I long to see the Lord do many impossible things, many acts of divine intervention, many displays of His power.

Why? Because He is GOD!

I wonder...
Does God sometimes not do as many miracles because we simply aren't asking for or looking for them?
Do we rely on our own strength, our own technology, our own abilities...instead of believing that God wants to do things that only HE can do?
If we ask God to display His miraculous power more, will we begin to see it already operating in our lives?

I'm not sure about the answers to these questions, but I do think this is a good year to explore them.

Will you pray for God to make this a year of many miracles? So that we as His children might increase our awe and praise of Him, and so that those who don't know Him might see His power displayed and seek Him?

I already have a list of at least five specific miracles I'm praying for. I imagine that list will continue to grow. And I'll be sure to let you know when those prayers are answered. =)

We have an awesome God! Let's continue to praise Him and to watch eagerly for the miraculous things He will do this year!

“Who among the gods is like you, O LORD?

Milagros
 
Nunca he sido alguien que formule promesas para el Año Nuevo. Pero hace unos años comencé a escoger un tema para esta fecha.
 
Un año mi tema fue “siguiendo”. Sentí que Dios quería que simplemente me enfocara en seguirlo – donde Él me guiara, sin importar las posibles dificultades o consecuencias. Ése fue un año difícil. Pero tener la mentalidad de seguirlo me ayudó mucho.
 
El año pasado el tema fue expectación. Tenía una sensación de expectativa de lo que Dios tenía reservado para mí. Sin embargo, muchas cosas de las que estaba a la expectativa y esperaba que pasaran, no sucedieron. Y otras que no tenía idea ni había soñado, ocurrieron. Así que el año pasado fue un poquito confuso para mí, pero sé que Dios estaba llevando a cabo su plan divino para mí.
 
Este año estoy en el estado de “esperar y ver”. En realidad no tengo idea de lo que el año nuevo traerá y dudo en formular expectativas específicas. Sin embargo, el sentido de la expectativa ansiosa aún persiste en mi espíritu. ¡Quizá es por eso que estoy confiando y orando que este será un año de muchos milagros!
 
No es que no haya experimentado milagros antes. He visto a Dios hacer cosas milagrosas, especialmente durante los últimos años. Pero todavía anhelo ver al Señor hacer muchas cosas imposibles, muchos actos de intervención divina, muchas muestras de Su poder.
 
¿Por qué? ¡Porque Él es Dios!
 
Me pregunto. . .
¿A veces Dios no hace muchos milagros porque simplemente no los pedimos o no los buscamos?
¿Confiamos en nuestra propia fortaleza, nuestra propia tecnología, nuestras propias capacidades. . . en lugar de creer que Dios quiere hacer cosas que solamente Él puede hacer?
Si pedimos a Dios que despliegue más Su poder milagroso, ¿empezaremos a ver que ya está operando en nuestras vidas?
 
No estoy segura de las respuestas a estas preguntas, pero sí pienso que es un buen año para explorarlas.
 
¿Te unirás a mí?
 
¿Orarás para que Dios haga de éste un año de muchos milagros? ¿Para que así nosotros, como Sus hijos, podamos aumentar nuestra admiración y alabanza a Él, y para que aquellos que no lo conocen puedan ver Su poder desplegado y, buscarlo?
 
Yo ya tengo una lista de por lo menos cinco milagros específicos por los que estoy orando. Imagino que esa lista continuará creciendo. Y me aseguraré de contarles cuando esas oraciones sean contestadas.
 
¡Tenemos un Dios asombroso! ¡Continuemos alabándolo y esperando ansiosamente las cosas milagrosas que hará este año!
